“We always knew of each other,” Savannah said. “We went to different schools and then he finally asked me out one day. We dated for 9 months and then he proposed.”
Their families have been in the Port Orange area for 6 generations and so it only seemed right for them to get married right where their roots were planted. “It was so special to get married on his family property in the barn that his great grandfather had built years before.”
Families are like branches on a tree. We grow in different directions. Yet our roots remain the same.
They spent the next 10 months building, crafting and working together with their families on the farm to turn a regular old barn into an elegant & whimsical wedding venue.
“My one grandfather who I call my “Pinterest Poppy” made the barn doors, signs and tables. My other grandfather married us. It was so special to have not only my dad in the wedding but both of my grandfathers a part of it too.”

While getting ready looks may not sound too important, if you’ve hired Emotive Photo as your wedding photographer, we’ll show up just in time to capture those final finishing touches before you step into your wedding gown and trust us, you’ll want to have something that’s not only comfy and cute, but photogenic too! Here’s a little inspiration for you… some of our own brides & bridesmaids getting ready & what they chose to wear at these beautiful Florida wedding venues.
Want to feel comfortable and fancy while you prep for your big day? Matching robes add a dose of elegance to the getting ready room as you sip champagne and get your hair done! (don’t forget to steam the robes ahead of time for flawless getting ready photos!) Check out Plum Pretty Sugar… they have some of our favs!
The most important part of choosing your getting ready look is selecting something that won’t mess up your girls’ hair and makeup when they change into their dresses! Rompers are a cute solution since you can’t take them off over your head anyway. Printed, floral, matching, or mismatched — your girls will love getting ready in rompers!
Like with rompers, button down shirts or dresses solve the problem of not wanting to ruin your hair-do. Go for a comfy look with oversized button downs in any color, stripes or polka dots, or personalized monograms! They also make for creative, personalized & useful bridesmaid gifts!

“We exchanged numbers and decided to get ice cream the following day… we’ve been together ever since & as corny as it sounds, it was love at first sight.” -Chaney
We met Rob and Chaney in Savannah to photograph their engagement pictures… these two are beautiful and fun and Rob lived up to his “high on life 24/7” description that Chaney warned us of! “He’s one of a kind and I love every bit of him!” I think you can see that in their photos. We were honored to capture their love and will be photographing their wedding in Lexington this November where I’m sure we’ll have just as much fun together!
]]>Pop on into this party and then join us in wishing this beautiful couple the happiest New Year!!
